CERT is composed of neighbors who learn how to help themselves, prepare their property, and assist their neighbors in a disaster. We actively work with the county Departments of Emergency Management, emergency HAM radio operators (ARES/RACES) and the fire and sheriff departments.

  • Emergency Siren

    What It Means To You

The Diamond Point Emergency Siren sounds like WHEEEEEEEE Youuuuuuuuuuu , Wheeeeeeeeee Youuuuuuuuuuuu continuously. The siren will be able to sound the alarm for any emergencies that may involve human or structural damage. Emergencies include Wild Fire, Tsunami, Earthquakes, Dangerous Storms, HAZMAT, or Terrorist events. CERT personnel will be available for details at the corner of Sunshine Ave and Sunshine Way, west of the airport. The radio “hams” at Sunshine Acres who are members of the American Radio Relay League’s Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) do Routine testing at 9 a.m. the first Tuesday of every month, it will sound like Dee, Daa, Dee, Daa……… and an announcement that this is a test. In an emergency, a CERT team member may be canvassing your neighborhood. If you see a person wearing a yellow or green helmet or green helmet and vest with a CERT logo on it, they can help you. By using the back of this card, place the HELP side of the card toward the window glass and someone will come to your aid.

    DIAMOND POINT HEART DEFIBRILLATOR LOCATION

The community defibrillator has been placed in the Diamond Point Firehouse Office. The Blyn Fire Station has a 5 minute response time for us now. Please call 911 and not the community pager number. The defibrillator will always be available for emergencies.

Where To Go

DIAMOND POINT ROAD TO HWY 101 IS THE LAST PLACE TO GO IN AN EMERGENCY. Traffic on a 2 lane road bordered by trees during a wildfire would become a dangerous parking lot. During a Tsunami Warning or Evacuation we will be better off going up to Sunshine Ave and Sunshine Way near the airport. Highway 101 is only at an elevation of 150 feet and the airport is 250 feet.
